Pout is a beauty boutique, in Columbia’s Devine Street shopping district, offering skin care services, cosmetic products, and beauty workshops. Specialty Woodworks worked with the design team to meet Pout’s retail and professional services requirements.
The majority of the project was fabricated and built using ColorCore 2® and Decometal® laminates, solid poplar with lacquer painted finishes, back-painted glass for countertops, and Corian® solid surfaces.
The scope of work required custom-built displays, counters, cabinets, shelving, and furniture for the retail and professional service areas.
The point of sale counters and cosmetic islands in the retail areas were fabricated with laminate clad and back painted glass tops over the laminate clad top. Each one featured drawers and adjustable rollouts for storage behind self-closing doors. Every piece included caster wheels, concealed behind toe kicks, for easy movement without removing product displays.
The east and west retail alcoves showcase product lines from wall-mounted cabinets with back-painted glass tops, and back walls constructed of Helenski panels with hanging pucks. Cabinets include various sized drawers and rollouts for product storage concealed behind floor-to-ceiling doors. The laminate clad surfaces provide durable, easy cleaning surfaces.
The professional services area features wall-mounted cabinets with back-painted glass tops and utility drawers for storage. Along the north wall are floor to ceiling cabinets with adjustable shelving behind full-height self-closing doors. On the south wall, wall-mounted cabinets surround the washbowl area with isometric shelves above.
The client waiting area provides comfort with an L-shaped bench and a customer’s washbasin with a Corian solid surface top.
The result is a refined, modern look built to attract clients while providing years of long-lasting service.
