Prisma Health Baptist Parkridge Hospital design teams understood healthcare excellence begins with patient experience. Parkridge was designed to produce a sense of comfort and assurance of the best medical care. Specialty Woodworks helped accomplish the design team’s vision of a hospital unlike any other in the Midlands.
On the front exterior, we manufactured and installed the hospital's overhanging canopy. Stainless steel hangers support the Ipê wood beams, which was selected for its resistance to extreme outdoor conditions.
On the first floor, we provided a variety of custom furnishings and stations. Throughout the hospital, we installed cherry veneer wall panels, columns, and drop-down ceiling panels. The Reception Center welcomes visitors to the healthcare facility. Its curved and mitered desk was fabricated with a timber strand product engineered with multi-layer woven wood materials, acrylic solid surface counters with a solid surface base.
The Refresh Cafe sets itself apart with a curved granite top service bar, a metal laminate front, and a textured solid surface base. An open section provides room for a refrigerated case.
The lab check-in desk was built using cherry veneers, acrylic solid surface counters, a solid surface base, and 3Form Varia® panels for partitions. The technicians’ station is a die wall construction covered with cherry veneer panels, surrounded by acrylic solid surfaces at the base, and acrylic solid surface countertops with a bullnose edge.
On the second floor, the chapel’s semi-translucent wall provides privacy while allowing light to filter in. The wall was built using 3Form textured panels with colored acrylic resin panels, on offset mounts, attached to the exterior side. The wood sections of the wall were created with cherry veneers - matching the wall paneling throughout. The chapel’s floating ceiling is made with matching cherry veneers and provides an aesthetic quality with recessed lighting.
Specialty Woodworks provided installations in the Physical Therapy Center on Floor 4 and the Physician Offices on Floors Two, Three, and Four.
