Lexington Medical Park 2, a five-story medical office building, serves as an office location for more than 50+ doctors in more than 10 areas of practice. The medical park was the first LEED Certified Medical Office Building on the Lexington Medical Center campus.
Specialty Woodworks provided design-build-install services throughout the 175,466-sf building. For each floor, we fabricated and installed laminate-clad nurse stations and patient room cabinetry with solid surface tops for low maintenance, easy disinfecting, and cleaning.
On each floor level, we engineered, fabricated, and installed quarter maple veneer wall panels for the elevator areas, adjacent hallways, and columns. To meet the Silver LEED certification requirements, waterborne finishes were used for reduced VOCs.
The building's signature feature is the monumental staircase and elliptical balcony. We engineered, fabricated, and installed the single-run trim around the balcony, the veneer-wrapped stringers with solid maple stringer caps hollowed out in order to have them twist with the staircase, and the three-piece crown above the stairs. Again, quarter maple veneers were used with the waterborne finish.
A lot goes into what we do and how we do it. Meet the team that makes it happen.
