General Information Services (GIS) is one of the largest dedicated background screening providers in the world. Specialty Woodworks was a part of their phase IV master growth and construction plan. Working with the architect and interior designers, we engineered, fabricated, built, and installed a significant amount of work. Our woodworking and craftsmanship experience is wonderfully exhibited on this project.
The central feature of the GIS headquarters is our custom millwork and furniture. We fabricated and installed mahogany wall panels, wainscot panels, and millwork throughout the 28,000-sf office space.
Our team created some of the finest works with the most impressive finishes using crotch mahogany and granite with the oval reception desk, sketch-face mahogany veneers fanning across the top surface of the corporate conference room table along with the mahogany media center in the conference room. In the smaller conference room, we created the oval-shaped conference table using maple burl veneers and the credenza with mahogany veneers.
The executive office included a uniquely designed desk crafted with crotch mahogany and mahogany framework. Additional items to the executive office included the credenza and wall panel with columns, bookcases with granite countertops, and window valances — all finely made with mahogany veneers and solids, then expertly installed by Specialty Woodworks.
A lot goes into what we do and how we do it. Meet the team that makes it happen.
